Here are some tips to help you avoid getting scammed by door-to-door salesmen:

1. Ask for identification: Legitimate salespeople will have a solicitors badge from FPD. Make sure they show you that identification before discussing their product.

2. Do your research: Before making a purchase or signing a contract, research the company and its product online.

3. Don’t feel pressured: Scammers often use high-pressure tactics to get you to make a quick decision. If you feel uncomfortable or rushed, it’s okay to end the conversation and ask them to leave.

4. Never give out personal information: Be cautious of salespeople who ask for personal information such as your social security number or bank account information. Legitimate salespeople will not need this information to sell you a product or service.

5. Trust your instincts: If something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

6. If you would like a no soliciting sticker you can purchase one online or pick on up for free at the Fishers Police Department during business hours.
